The Pacific Path in elementary schools - program Structure

First Phase: Conflict Resolution

Teacher facilitated workshops help develop the skills needed for peaceful conflict resolution amongst children. Nine 50-minute workshops are conducted for students in each cycle. The different themes covered are Conflict, Feelings, Anger, Communication, Listening, Empathy, Self-esteem, Search for Solutions and Conflict resolution in 4 steps.

Second Phase: Peer Mediation

Involves a process of implementing a mediation service in which the students are trained and supervised by adults to act as mediators for their peers in conflict situations. The mediators are selected amongst children in grade 4, 5, and 6.
