THE PROCESS
Intake
Are you experiencing a conflict? Contact us and
we can evaluate together your needs and the possibility of social mediation as
a solution.
Case Development
Case development can be done in person or by
telephone.
The mediator communicates with each party
involved in order to evaluate the situation and nature of the conflict.
In brief, case development allows us
to :
- Understand the point of view of
each party;
- Evaluate the possiblity of a
mediation;
- Explain the mediation process;
- Answer questions;
If the parties agree to participate in a
mediation, a date will be set.
Mediation
In order to make the mediation more effective,
we work with the co-mediation model.
This means that two mediators will be present during the process and
will work together to offer each party the opportunity to express themselves in
a respectful manner. It is necessary to
allow a minimum of two to three hours for a mediation. Often, one meeting is enough. However, sometimes subsequent meetings are
necessary. At the end of most
mediations, an agreement will be reached between the parties.
Follow up
We will follow up with the parties in person or
by telephone one month after the last meeting to ascertain the effectiveness of
the agreement and any other changes in the situation.
