Development and evaluation of training for parents based on the Pacific Path program for children (2 projects)
- This project was carried out in 2000-2001 by Karina Piedimonté, a masters student in psychoeducation at the Université de Montréal. Its purpose was to establish training guidelines for parents whose children are taking part in the Pacific Path program. The impact of implementation on the parents’ level of satisfaction and learning were evaluated. This project, which inspired the creation of the present parent program, included 6 hours of training over 4 evenings. The results demonstrated that the parents were very satisfied and intended to use the conflict resolution principles at home. During a follow-up evaluation, they also mentionned having learned and applied these principles at home.
- The second project, which was recently terminated, is being lead by Cynthia Tanguay, masters student. It’s main purpose is to make parents of kindergarten children aware of conflict resolution. The results are expected shortly.
